A Confession...

Ok so I should probably be talking about something much more important with Proposition 8 being ruled unconstitutional yesterday but alas I just don't have the brainpower for that today.  Instead you get some mindless rambling.  Your welcome.

Since coming to Georgia it has become apparent to me that I may have more of a problem than I've previously admitted.  I honestly thought it was no big deal, I didn't need it.  I would just get one here and there when it was convenient.  Perhaps I was simply in denial about it.  However there are none around here, the closest being 22 miles away!!

After about a week I seriously was about to hop in the car and drive the 30 minutes each way just to get one!  THAT is when I realized I may have a slight problem... a slight addiction.

To what is it that I am addicted you may ask??

Starbucks Hot Chocolate

Bet you thought I had something really juicy to talk about didn't you?  Anyway I don't know what it is about their hot chocolate but it's like heaven in a cup!  Maybe I have become a bit of a hot chocolate snob but really, no one else comes close.  Period.  I can't even enjoy a cup of homemade like I used to.  Starbucks has ruined me and I will forever be tied to them for their cup of chocolaty goodness, no matter how much I don't want to be.
I believe this addiction indulgence crept up on me after our move 2 years ago.  Our previous home was not near any Starbucks except for in the grocery store.  Sure, most of the time I would get one while grocery shopping but I hardly went to that grocery store.  I tended to go to the commissary, without Starbucks.  However when we moved we were surrounded by them, at Giant, Target, 2 in the mall, 4 stand alone locations including one within walking distance (a longer walk but walk nonetheless).  It certainly didn't help that a dear friend of mine worked there.  Slowly but surely it went from weekly to semi-weekly, then to 4 or so times a week.  The one right next to the malls play area really sabotaged me, along with the Target location.

When I found myself actually considering driving an hour to get one I ended up laughing at myself.  Seriously how bad is that?  So what is a girl to do?

They say the first step toward recovery is admitting you have a problem.....

So what is one thing you have trouble living without?  Have you recently discovered any addictions indulgences that you have?

  1. I am so with you on the hot cocoa! Also Target (a real problem now thanks to their "inadvertent" support of a loathsome politician) and Indian food. Seriously, I could eat Chicken Tikka Masala every day and never get over it.
