Choereg Results

I can sum this up with just one word... D-E-L-I-S-H!!!

This is quite a time consuming bread and I really wasn't sure how it would turn out since many of my recent bread adventures have left me frustrated.  However as I have stated before I am going to conquer bread on of these days so I was determined to give this a try.

I am so glad I did because this bread is absolutely fabulous.  It made 4 loaves which is a good thing considering that we've almost polished one off.  It's a little sweet, soft, and heavenly.

This is not to say it was without setbacks because there certainly were.  First I pulled out the old Kitchen Aid to try mixing the bread with and I think it just added to clean-up and didn't help very much.  I need to read the instruction manual since it may have some tips on how to actually do it.  Second I made the dough too doughy!  I am thinking one of my problems with making dense bread may be because I'm adding too much flour (not a fact, just a theory).  With this in mind I was trying to be careful about that but created a new problem.  For a bread cooked in a loaf this wouldn't have been a big deal but Choereg is braided!!  Needless to say the braiding part was rather interesting but I managed to get it done.

All in all it was a huge success even though it's the most complex bread I made.  This is the BEST bread I have made so far!!  Baby steps...
