So can I just put out there that I am so ready for spring! We had a small taste of milder weather this past weekend and it was absolutely glorious. This little bit of almost 50° weather has got me longing for spring.
I am sick of the cold, sick of the wind, sick of the wet and most importantly sick of feeling like a lump! Pretty much the entire family has the winter blues and needs some sunshine and fresh air. I don't know why but this winter has really toyed with my mood and I can't stand it. I keep telling myself only a few more weeks and the weather will start to turn. That's what keeps me going.
In the thick of things I find myself complaining about being busy and always running, running, running. Getting tired from all the running to and from school, the park, the playground, the zoo, walking to the library and so on. Currently I have a new found appreciation for all that busyness* because it means that we are outside enjoying life and not cooped up inside waiting for dry ground and warmer weather. I was almost too excited when I saw the landscaping guys out on the golf course because I knew that is a sign of warmer weather not being too far off!
So to everyone else out there who is also sick of winter this one's for you! Only a few more weeks and we should be back to enjoying the great outdoors. This year I've decided to embrace the busy and when I forget I will think back to to right now and my case of the winter blues.
*Funny tidbit - I first typed this word replacing the y with an i since that is what you typically do. I then looked up to find the word business! Clearly not what I wanted and I had to double check just to make sure the y stayed.
If I had a drink in hand, I would raise my glass to that!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the snow to clear. The kids are so easy and happy when we can just go outside. I just toss them out the back door, grab my knitting and we are all so happy!
ReplyDeleteIf it helps, it is probably time to start seedlings...The girls and I are going to do that soon so we can use their growth as a countdown to planting in the true spring.
@Alexis - I am quite jealous of your playground right in the back yard but yeah, being able to throw them out back is a major plus!
ReplyDeleteIt would be almost time for seedlings, and I'm usually excited about garden planning but we're moving this summer so there is no point for us. It is a great countdown though and it's fun to watch them grow and get bigger.
