2) The above brings me to my next point. I can't stand Christmas TRAFFIC! I swear the day it turned November there was 3 times the amount of traffic. The stores, forget it. No more leisurely shopping trips with empty stores. I swear no one works around here! There's no reason for Target to be packed at 8:30 am, that's precisely the reason I go there so early. Oh, and lets not forget the mall.
3) Thanks for letting vent for a minute, I feel much better. Anyway I am doing much better on the gift project list, as in actually making the gifts. I am getting time here and there to work on them and now have
4) I've also been reading quite a bit lately. Mind you I read like a snail so it's not really that impressive. It just feels good knowing I am putting my brain to use and doing more with my time than sitting comatose in front of the tv. Good thing though since reading In Defense of Food added another 4 books to my list! I have been a bit obsessed with food related books lately. Tomorrow I'll have another addition of The Book Nook with more detail.
5) Speaking of food, I have been trying to change the way dinner occurs in our family. After writing a good 20 sentences I then decided it would be better talked about in it's own little post so look for that next week.
6) Good news, the kids are finally normal again after daylight savings. I'm telling ya the person who decides we still need such a thing is evil!
7) Trying to change my daughters diaper is like wrestling a damn alligator! I don't know how something so tiny and weighs only 19 pounds can be so hard to control. Think alligator death roll. Maybe that's what I'll go into for my next profession, I'm getting plenty of practice.
8) I have decided that I am actually going to go shopping on Black Friday this year. Typically I don't even bother, I'm not too impressed by the deals anyway. I feel like I should experience this at least once in my lifetime and I am excited by some of the things I'm seeing so I figure now is as good of a time as any. Now what will probably happen is I'll go out for about an hour and then realize it's not even worth it and come home but I digress. Maybe I'm just excited over the premise of Starbucks and child free shopping! Anyone want to help me brave the crazy?
9) A major purge of all things baby is about to happen. I have been posting on Craigslist and some things have sold but frankly I am just so sick of seeing it I'm not sure how much longer I can have the giant heap sitting in our room! Craigslist takes time, not much of your time but time for the items to sell since you usually have to list a few times. Add to that the fact that most of it is winter things so if I am going to consign them I need to do so NOW. I would love to make a little money off them but it's getting to the "not worth it anymore" point. I guess the upside is that I will get something for it by consigning but nothing near what I could actually sell it for. Good to know I have another 18 years of this ongoing dilemma.
That about sums up everything happening right now. We really haven't been up to anything exciting or blog-worthy as could be noted by my lack of posting. Really just same stuff, different day! For more randomness head on over to The Well Read Mom and see what's happening in Alexis' world.
I'll brave Black Friday with you :)
ReplyDeleteCompletely understand both the alligator roll comment (I had to wrestle two) and the consignment comment. I believe that the consignment shop are able to stay in business and make a good profit is because they know mom's will hit the " I want it all out NOW!!!" moment and want the stuff gone and take the ridicously low price instead of spending X amount of months selling their stuff privately.
