SWITCH YOUR CARSEATS AROUND!!
It's that simple, that's all it takes to throw your entire day off. Why do I say all this? Well I had to switch the carseats around since the school boys needs to be on the right side of the car. That is where we had little E's carseat, all tucked in backwards nice and snug. I changed them around last night and apparently it's just too much for my brain to process this early in the morning!
You don't think it makes a big difference but muscle memory is a pretty fabulous thing. We had our load up/unload routine down. There was no fumbling around with E trying to situate her in her rear facing carseat. The straps seemed to almost buckle themselves I had done it so much. All of us were loaded up and ready to go in not time!
This morning? Well this morning was hell for my brain! I still haven't gotten our new load/unload routine yet so I had the boy pestering asking me to open his door, all while trying to "quickly" get E in so I could go open it. Well "quickly" just wasn't working this morning. Seriously if you would have seen me you might have thought that was the first time I ever buckled a kid in a carseat! I had a terrible time getting her in, and straight, and against the back... you get the idea. Then I notice my left arm is in this awful position, elbow pointed to the sky, and I am trying not to slam it on the door frame (unsuccessfully I may add!). The beginnings of a fit are brewing since I am taking way too long and adjusting her way too much for the princess' liking. Oh and did I mention the boy is still asking me to open his door??
Well after what seemed like forever I was all sweaty, the kids were in the car and we were on our way to school. Time to get the kids out...
So yeah, if you are feeling things have gotten a bit too routine for you just switch something around, literally! You brain will thank you later.
