Have any leftover wine?
If you have leftover wine that you know will not be consumed in the near future then pour into ice cube trays and freeze. This way you will have wine at the ready for your favorite recipes. This is even good for non-wine drinkers who still use it in recipes on occasion. It saves time since there is no running to the store to buy some and saves money since you won't be wasting the rest!
It amazes me on how many things you can freeze. We bought a lot of Amish butter this weekend. I only wanted a little bit but the woman at the counter reminded me that I could cut it into smaller portions and freeze the rest. I think of you and your husband's conversation about the solution to all left overs...freeze it!
ReplyDeleteYour post also came 1 day short. We pulled out some wine yesterday that was at the end of its leg. Luckily I was making pasta so I was able to use it in my sauce. Next time I will freeze it (if I have room in the freezer).
I know, I am convinced you can freeze darn near anything!! There really are few exceptions. Brian makes fun of me but it's so true!
ReplyDeleteI tend to forget about this myself though I rarely make a recipe calling for wine (perhaps because of this). I need to start finding some!
