Banana Chips

Snowed in with another blizzard I decided to give banana chips a try. My son likes the store bought ones a lot but it's hard to find ones unsweetened and not fried. I looked up the basic directions which is cook them low and slow.

The lowest my oven goes is 170 degrees so I put in on that and let them cook about 1.5 hours on each side.

They said cutting them and laying them out was the most time consuming part but I found that flipping them all in the middle of cooking is what took forever!

Some of them came out a bit overdone, mainly the ones on the bottom, but otherwise they were quite good. I don't even like banana's and I couldn't stop munching on them. They are quite addictive!

Other little tips:
  1. You must keep your oven open a couple inches while cooking to let the moisture escape.
  2. You can coat them in a mix of water and lemon juice to keep them from browning during cooking.
Aside from that, that's about it!!
